Designed for Outdoor Living In North London
This garden design in London is a refined contemporary outdoor space created for a private home in Haringey, North London. Designed as a seamless extension of the architecture, the garden balances structure, planting, and materials to create a setting for everyday living and relaxed entertaining.
Designed by our award-winning garden designers, the space incorporates a carefully considered outdoor entertaining area alongside a fully integrated outdoor kitchen, creating a setting suited to both everyday use and relaxed social occasions.

Timeless Elegance
Our contemporary small London garden design blends timeless elegance with modern detailing. As part of the bespoke design, the dining terrace is finished in Florence White porcelain paving, creating a crisp contrast against the surrounding evergreen planting.
Layered clusters of white-flowering plants introduce light and freshness throughout the year, enhancing the garden’s sense of balance and providing year-round interest in this London garden design.
As a studio specialising in garden design in London, we understand the complexities of creating refined outdoor spaces within boroughs such as Haringey, where architecture, planning considerations, and scale require a sensitive, considered approach.

Contemporary Garden Design in London
This classical contemporary small London garden was developed in 2024, with a carefully curated planting scheme installed in late autumn to ensure structure and interest throughout the seasons.
The bespoke design is arranged across three distinct levels, creating dedicated areas for entertaining, relaxed lounging, and quieter moments such as morning coffee.
The planting scheme focuses on evergreen structure, softened with white flowering species to bring light and balance to the space.
Patio areas are finished in Egyptian Beige pavers and Florence White porcelain, while planting borders are detailed with Scottish pebbles to visually ground the garden and gently soften the transitions between levels.

Egyptian Beige pavers, Florence White porcelain, and Scottish pebbles were selected to create a cohesive, elegant foundation for this contemporary small garden. These materials are complemented by salt-glazed pots and specimen olive trees, introducing texture and character while reinforcing the garden’s refined, modern aesthetic.
Contemporary Materials

Venetian fencing, defined by its clean horizontal lines, introduces a contemporary elegance to the garden. Finished in soft, understated tones and softened with complementary planting, it integrates naturally with its surroundings while providing enhanced privacy, particularly when used to elevate a shared fence or boundary wall.
Venetian Fencing

The front garden combines Jura Beige limestone paving with classic Victorian tiles and a salt-glazed pot planted with an olive tree, creating a cohesive and welcoming arrival space. Bullnose steps were carefully introduced to soften edges and improve visual flow, bringing a refined and considered finish to the entrance.

Evergreen and White Planting Scheme

Ilex Crenata
Ilex crenata, or Japanese holly, is a compact evergreen shrub with glossy dark green leaves, small white spring flowers and black berries later in the year. Its dense growth and excellent response to pruning make Ilex crenata a popular alternative to box for topiary and low hedging, and an ideal structural companion in contemporary planting schemes.

Olive Tree
Tuscan olive trees are resilient and well-suited to sheltered London gardens. They thrive in large feature pots or well-drained soil and prefer full sun. Their aromatic grey-green leaves and delicate yellow summer flowers add Mediterranean character, and in good years they may even produce black olives in late summer or early autumn.

Agapanthus
Agapanthus ‘Snowy White’ is an elegant, semi-evergreen perennial with striking white flowers and lush green foliage. Flowering from July to September, it produces large rounded clusters up to 70cm tall. ‘Snowy White’ prefers well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, offering a low-maintenance garden plant that also attracts bees and butterflies.

Myrtle
Myrtle is a highly fragrant evergreen shrub that thrives in sunny UK gardens, despite its origins in warmer climates. With glossy dark green leaves, it bears beautiful white summer flowers followed by blue-black berries. Long associated with love and peace, myrtle is also valued in traditional medicine and aromatherapy.
